Frequently asked questions
Is the counselling session a sales call?
No. The session is structured entirely around understanding your preparation and providing an honest diagnosis. A programme is recommended only when genuinely appropriate — and if the honest answer is that you don't need one, we will say so.
What is the difference between Counselling and Mentoring?
Counselling is a single structured session that diagnoses your preparation and gives you a personalised roadmap. Mentoring is a continuous monthly engagement — a dedicated mentor tracks your preparation every week, runs a monthly strategy session, and supports you with the full suite of ten deliverables. Counselling helps you understand the journey. Mentoring helps you execute it.
Is the counselling fee adjustable against a programme?
Yes. If you enrol in any UPSC Gurus programme — including mentoring — within 30 days of your session, the entire ₹650 is adjusted against your programme fee. You never pay twice for beginning.
Which mentoring plan should I choose?
If you are unsure, start with 1 month and assess. The 3-month plan is the most commonly chosen — it gives enough time for preparation to compound and for the mentor to understand your patterns deeply. The 6-month plan is best for aspirants with a longer preparation window who want the best monthly rate and maximum consistency across a Prelims-to-Mains cycle.
Can I join mentoring at any stage of preparation?
Yes. The programme adapts entirely to where you are. Your roadmap is built around your current situation — not a fixed starting point.
Is this useful for working professionals?
Yes, for both counselling and mentoring. Your preparation plan is built specifically around your available study hours. The weekly structure is particularly effective for students who cannot afford to spend mornings deciding what to study.
Can parents book separately from the aspirant?
Yes. Parent Support Counselling is an independent session and can be booked separately, or together with the aspirant's session as the Family Bundle at ₹999.
Is selection guaranteed?
No. No ethical programme can guarantee selection. We promise structure, clarity, and honest guidance throughout your preparation. Students trust honest promises. We make only those.
